Good or bad ....Ive got a agglomeration of CO2 guns and I exit them charged indefinitely....zero problems. ..for those that require it I always use a drib of Pell gun oil on the cart..opinions volition vary...skillful luck

No problem.....if it is really sealed, it shouldn't lose gas.  If it does lose gas, information technology wasn't 100% sealed to get-go with.

  • Louisiana

I proceed mine charged....good for the seals but bad  for the varmints.

I researched the same affair years agone with my Fusion and 2260MB, both were rather new rifles.  I accidentally left my 2260 charged for a calendar week.  The valve immediately started leaking on the side by side Co2, replaced the seals and nonetheless leaked.  I concluded up getting a valve for 25 or xxx bucks and the trouble was fixed.  Information technology could have totally been a coincidence merely I don't leave them charged anymore.  I always utilize Pellgun oil on every other Co2.

Just saying...co2 is prone to the "sneaky leak".

Tin accept it stay pressruized for months and months, and nonetheless selection it up and get  shots at the expected speed.

Just it doesn't mean it didn't leak a picayune.

Co2 self-pressurizes (goes from liquid co2 to gas co2, so while I've oven hqad co2 pistols/rifles however be pressurized afterward long-long stroage, may too find that they give fewer practiced shots than they are expected to.

Also why pressure level gauges on bulk fill co2 are pretty uselss, other than as a kind of back-trace thermometer.  Fill it with ane ounce of co2 oir make full it with x ounces of co2, the gauge is going to read the same gas pressure so long every bit there is liquid co2 in the system.

It's of no real matter...load it in March and put it away until June, and maybe go 22 shots when you look xxx (and tin can get 30 on a freash reload)....so what?

the longest span i've ever left a my 2240 pressurized?  4 years.  i put it away in the under seat storage of my fishing boat and forgot about it.  when i sold the boat i removed all my tackle and establish information technology.

i finished off the balance of the cart and i'm still shooting information technology with the original valve and seals.

Here is a tale I've merely told once (in an email)...simply I'll tell hither.

1982 I set an one-time Crosman 150 pistol to Mac one (this would have been Tim'south father rather than today's Tim) for a reseal.  I kind of gave that pistol away in 2004 (aren't too mnay buddies that will post bail /pick yous up from the local PD  at 3AM and give you a bed to seep in).  Final I heard from him was in 2022...and the pistol all the same seals/holds co2.

So...34 years on a gear up of seals...and he keeps information technology lubed, charged, and ready to go for every bit long as he's had it (I'll talk him back out of it one of these days)

My CO2 guns are usually charged, that is how I adopt to go along them - occasionally without a cartridge, but I adopt them charged past leaving a well-nigh empty cartridge in them.

My PCP's are generally well-nigh their depression finish of the pressure level range when completing a session and are thus put away.   I prefer not to have then run fashion downwardly.

MSP's are stored with ii to ten pump - 2 if but finishing a session - as many as may have been applied if a shot is not taken.

SSP's ever "de-aired"

All decocked regardless of ability establish.

And periodically lubed to proceed seal pliable.

(No springers here)

With freedom comes a terrible responsibility

With co2  I try to run the cartridge down just if it'southward still got enough of a charge in it for some upwardly to snuff shots I'll put it abroad with co2 in it. So far they've all held co2 except for i and that is an SPA CP1, I've already replaced the seals in it and it at present holds air for who knows how long.

I've had 2 experiences on 2 sides of this outcome.

one. My M&P "9mm" Airsoft replica

It takes a 12 gram CO cartridge in a driblet style mag. I left this pressurized for a calendar month. Every affair worked fine. And then, when I had to reload the CO, the new CO 12 gram cartridge would non agree a seal. I wasted iii new cartridges (all leaked) trying to reload.  Plainly the "confront seal" in the mag had taken a set from being squeezed by that cartridge for over a month. That face seal is all the seal there is. I had to replace that mag. I don't do that any more. The most I'll do is leave it pressured overnight before I unload that cartridge. Since then, no problems.

2. My Hammerli 850 w/88 gram cartridge

These large cartridges are sealed both by a face seal and by the threads on the cartridge. I've left an 88 gram cartridge in the Hammerli for several months at a time with no ill effects or leaks what-so-always. Since I've learned how to bulk refill my spent 88 gram catridges (modified by the improver of a pin valve) I can now remove them without losing pressure level so ... many times I practice remove them. I tin then "pinnacle them off" to 100% fill so that every shooting session begins with a full CO cartridge. It costs me most $4 to do a complete refill of 5-six of these 88 gram cartridges. Nice!

Information technology takes a 12 gram CO cartridge in a drop style magazine. I left this pressurized for a month. Every thing worked fine. I wasted 3 new cartridges (all leaked) trying to reload.  Plain the "face seal" in the magazine had taken a set from existence squeezed by that cartridge for over a month. That confront seal is all the seal there is. I had to replace that mag. I don't exercise that whatsoever more. The most I'll practice is leave it pressured overnight earlier I unload that cartridge. Since then, no bug.

I had the same thing happen to my Remington 1911 CO2 pistol.  Left it charged for a few months and the magazine CO2 holder never held CO2 again.  I had to purchase a replacement magazine because I never could get it to seal again.  I at present store that one completely empty.  All my Crosman 22XX CO2 pistols seem to concord up well if left charged.

If the organisation is "Non" the simple seal at the puncture/valve entrance,  Forever, or until it decides to leak.

The first type, I don't trust at all, and won't owne.  My Crosman MK II and S&W, take never leaked. System where the pivot is in the bottom of the grip, and not part of the valve. 20+ years on either of them.

Erstwhile daisy repeater, semi auto with the firs type, always leaked out with in 24 hours. Same with the Daisy semi rifle. GRRRR!
